Job Description
The position of country manager requires a person with natural leadership skills who has the ability to oversee a number of projects at once, preferably combined with an understanding of online marketing and relevant sales experience. As a country manager you are hands-on, highly motivated, and have entrepreneurial instincts. You are commercially minded, get a kick out of motivating and inspiring a team and you are dedicated to furthering the success of the client. You like to get the best out of your team members and let them grow toward a self motivating and driven team with commercial excellence. The central responsibilities will be managing the country team, building revenue growth and developing strong relationships with partners. You are responsible for overseeing and managing many facets of the business, including: sales (new business development, B2B etc.), marketing (online, affiliates, PR, social media etc.), web editing and customer service. Moreover, you enjoy thinking strategically about new opportunities and possibilities in all areas. The key to success in this role will be the ability to use experience to provide innovative and inspirational leadership.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and networking skills, allowing them to build effective relationships with a diverse range of people in the team. You will also be able to translate company goals into specific priorities, objectives, and action plans.
A Typical Week
- You can expect to execute on the goals that you have set in conjunction with the leadership team.
- You will coach your team on implementation and reaching targets with frequent feedback.
- You will update with different disciplines you have within your department/country.
- You will stay up to date on everything about commerce. leisure, travel, competition, adapting to trends, not just looking at tomorrow but the week ahead, the month ahead, the year ahead.
- You will review standard processes, step aside and ask yourself why are you doing it this way and is there not a better way to accomplish it.
- Recruitment will be a very big part of your role and the results will have a significant impact in your success.
- You will be addicted to the dashboard showing your progress and know your metrics inside and out.
- You will be able to read the situation, make sure certain steps are happening to build results together, interpret old situations and change practices, what’s going well elsewhere, share practices (good and bad).
